I am still contemplating which one to go for my next visit. My choice would be Khareyana Spa, Baliayu and Clarins. Oh my... Clarins looks soooooo tempting.. Never in my life I had the gut to splurge for a massage. Blame the baby. An awesome excuse. Can I?

Pre-natal Massage at Urban Retreat Spa, The Curve

Me, being a pregnant lady with so many dramas in life recently, need a massage badly. I have neither suffered much of back pain yet nor leg cramp at night but still a pregnant lady deserve to be pampered once in a while. Who's with me? Good. I'm in my 2nd trimester now so I'm good to go.

So, I turned to Mr. Google as usual looking for reliable prenatal massage around Klang Valley and found a few spas which provide prenatal massage BUT all of them come with a good price. It would be great if I could find a place which cost RM 50 for a massage. T_____T ..

So, I've decided to try Urban Retreat at The Curve with my other half. He opted for deep tissue massage since he wanted a deep pressure type of massage. Prenatal massage is called Best Pre-natal Acu-Pressure Massage so no oil was used only pressure was given. I mean using fingers and hand of course. Prior to the massage, we were led to feet wash then only to the room. You will be given a changing cloths (big shirt and pants) to be worn during the massage. Urban Retreat would be the correct place should you dislike to be naked.  But then I would prefer to be massaged using oil instead.

This is the couple room. Please forgive me for the ugly photo. Mr. google didn't help me here with the room pic, so I had to use mine.

The question is.. How's the massage? Great!! Despite only using pressure , the masseuse didn't disappoint me at all. My massage-mate enjoyed his massage too although he said (complained?) the pressure was strong. Darl, that's why it's called deep tissue massage. The ambiance? I LOVE it. Although at a point, the music got a bit louder, but it was only for a while.

Pregnancy massage : RM 139 (90 minutes)
Deep tissue massage : RM 149 (90 minutes)

Location :

Urban Retreat Spa
Lot 157, 1st Floor, The Curve Shopping Mall
6, Jalan PJU 7/3, Mutiara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Monday - Sunday : 11 am - 10 pm
Tel : +603-77103239

p/s - This entry is regarding my own personal review and the massage was fully paid by yours truly.

Ballooning

Salam readers...

Oh my. I've been neglecting the blog for months. Blame the pregnancy hormone.. I found that being pregnant is one of the best excuses ever. I can say to my partner that I'm tired, when he wanted to go to places that I didn't feel like going.. Aiya.. Now he's going to know that I was just making excuses all this while. But of course not like 'tipu sangat' since I noticed when my pregnancy entered 4 months, my movement became slower. I couldn't walk as fast as I could like before. That was kinda frustrating. How did I know I am slower now? My other half walks faster than me now.

T___________

Sorry dear.. But you do know that I love you despite all the mood swing-drama-whatever aite?

I rarely cook now. Not that I'm a good cook. The opposite actually. So lots of tapau food now. For this moment, I really want to enjoy for not having to cook much.. Hehe.

Currently, I am experiencing 'gatal-gatal' all over my body and all I could think was maybe it was due to my stretched skin especially around my belly. I know it's forbidden to 'garu-garu' but I just couldn't help it. I've tried Sebamed Olive Face & Body Wash and Cosmoderm Shower Gel with Tea Tree Oil but they weren't really any help. On top of that, I use Rosken Dry Skin Cream and Bio Oil after each shower. Not much help but I could only believe at least the scar will heal faster. Another product that I use is Prickly Heat Powder. My mum called it 'bedak ular'. My doctor wanted to give me medicine for that, but I kinda hesitate to take in any medicine except vitamin since past few months I took in so many panadols due to fever.

No. Not that I know better than my doctor. Just my own thought.

Should have tilted my head a bit since my butt-tummy size looks alike Ronald McDonald already. That's me at 18 weeks.

Review : Selera Ramadhan Ala Kampung at Armada Hotel, PJ

Salam readers...

Oh my.. How fast time flies.. We are approaching Ramadhan in 9 days.. God bless. Breaking fast (Berbuka puasa) during Ramadhan was quite significant to me because there will be many type of foods sell at bazaar Ramadhan and many hotels too will be preparing their 'Berbuka Puasa' feast. Armada Petaling Jaya welcomes all to their breaking fast at the Utara Coffee House with the nostalgic 'Selera Ramadhan Ala Kampung' promotion. Their professional chefs, headed by Chef Chew, certainly won't disappoint your taste bud with over 100 tantalizing spread of authentic Kampung dishes. Can you imagine?

Let see what do they offer...

I started my evening with Penang Laksa.. I've been craving for laksa and was extremely delighted when I spotted the stall. The smell of the gravy.. Ahhhhhhh... When I finished taking all the photos, I hurried first to the laksa. Pardon this preggy lady.

Penang laksa with condiments. I personally love it for its thick gravy. Yummy.

Now, let's move on to the main course.

Something That Makes Me Smile..

Salam readers...

Sorry for being silent for the past few months.. There are so many things to tell and a couple of food reviews which I have been neglected to do.. I'm really sorry for that. Truth is, I've been down with fever on and off for the couple months since I got back from Bali. And soon I found that I'm late and discovered that I'm pregnant. Alhamdulillah.. Frankly, I didn't know how to react, didn't even tell my parents until I did the pregnancy test 3 times. T________T .. The doctor even laughed at me when I told him that. First I did with the normal RM10 stripe. 2 lines. Second, I did with Clearblue RM19 (I think). + sign. Third, I did with the Clearblue Digital pregnancy test (that shows estimated weeks of pregnancy). Bought from AA Farmasi with cheaper price. It shows 3+ weeks. I'm just glad I bought the Clearblue test so, it won't be embarrassing to carry it in my bag to show it to the doctor. Just imagine if I brought the stripe only? Don't think I'd put them in my handbag.

Ok. So, it's true. I'm carrying our baby. My first scan shows only the baby with no heart beat yet. So, I was like, let's wait for another couple of weeks. Then, 2nd scan doctor said.. There's heart beat already. And now everything becomes so surreal. I need to watch my food intake, my activities. Need to climb up stairs slowly, one stair by one stair. T_________T. Mind you, my house is at level 4 with no lift. Not that I'm complaining, but I always run up to my house so I could reach my house fast. One thing to be glad, that I'm down with fever probably due to hormonal changes not because of some virus infection etc. Doctor even got my urine tested for infection and glad it was normal.

During my 4th weeks, I had a muscle spasm/cramp from my neck up until my jaw and eyes. It was really painful especially jaw locking and when it mess with my wisdom tooth. The symptom almost like tetanus. It lasted from 4.30 pm till 9 pm. I drove to my panel clinic, then suddenly the pain was unbearable so, I decided to go to Pantai Hospital. I thought they could do something to ease the pain but truth is the treatment was the same but of course I got my own space. I was so glad my friends was with me. We went to Pantai Hospital but since I was pregnant, the doctor couldn't do much and he said he could not give any pain killer. They did blood test and said that my calcium was ok. Treatment cost : RM251. My brother was nagging, that I didn't eat much and he was consulting with his friends who is studying medicine. I love my brothers. We didn't even tell our parents, who were on their way to KL (the day after tomorrow, was my brother engagement ceremony at Pahang) and my brother broke the news only when they arrived at my place.

My face looks like I gained 5kg because it was kinda swollen and I couldn't eat much and I could only yawn halfheartedly because it was painful when I opened my mouth wide. I slept with Salonpas patch on my left cheek in order to make me sleep well for the rest of the week. It helps. And of course thanks to my other half. I only bbm-ed him when I went to the panel and he didn't reply so I presumed he was busy (not that I purposely didn't call you). I call my girls, and my girls was updating the news with him since I couldn't talk much. My face was senget already at that time. They didn't even let me look at the mirror. I must be looking like ^&^*&%&^ that time. So, there goes my first painful experience. I'm quite traumatized each time I'm feeling hungry for I certainly do not want any 2nd experience of that. No morning sickness yet (that's a question people keep asking me) and hopefully not in the future. InsyaAllah.

Review : Kafe Brisik, Jaya One

Update : Jan 2015 .. I just found that Kafe Brisik is no longer opened at Jaya One.

If you love Indonesian-Thai food, you'll love Brisik's food. It was my 2nd visit to Brisik and this time I was there for a food review organized by Foodirector. I blogged about my first visit HERE. It was 2011 and my 2nd visit is after 1 year ++ .. I noticed they did some changes in terms of decorations and colours. It looks way better since last time it was more gloomy. I would prefer if I can see the food better. Nvm. That time, I only took photo with my phone. Terrible quality of photos. This one.. Better.. Yeayy.. So, enjoy the photos..

Upon arrival..

Our appetizer for the day..

Satagor (3pcs : RM9)- mix beancurd, mix veggie, minced chicken, potato cutlets. More-a-like our version of 'begedil'.
Crispy mushroom (RM11) - deep fried mushroom serve with thai sauce.

Keropok Malinja (RM5)- Taste bitter. I don't really enjoy eating it.

Satay serai (RM12) - half dozen of lemon grass chicken skewer.
Yummy as always. A different version from our regular satay.

Here comes the FOOD!!!

Ayam Penyet (RM18) - Indonesian style grilled chicken in chilli and tomatoes.
Another different version of Ayam Penyet.. Unlike the normal ayam penyet which is deep fried that I usually found. This is like ayam percik but with loads of chilli and tomatoes.

Gulai Kambing Cincang (RM25) - Lamb shoulder cooked in special curry
I didn't really have a bite of this since I'm not a fan of lamb. But I heard they said this is among the best dish of the night.

Tahu Telur (RM18) - Mountain tofu in eggs topup with carrot, cucumber and beansprout served with creamy home made sauce.
This is by far my favourite!! It's slightly crunchy on the outside and the sauce tastes just sweet enough.

Pucuk Paku Chilli (RM12) - Nice!!

Sundanese Dancing Fish (RM37) - Crispy fried ikan nila/talapia merah
Nicely presented but somehow taste-wise was just ordinary.

Next is our drinks..

An array of juices. RM7.50 each. They taste nice as it looks.

Jus Alpukat - The best I've tasted so far! I've tried one at Pecel Lele Lela (somewhere in Shah Alam) but that was kinda &*&$%  hence I only managed to drink quarter of the glass. BUT.. This is nice. I can finish the whole glass.

Asamboi - RM6.50

Asamboi + Calamansi - RM7.50

Overall I like their food and would definitely come back again for their decent food, but somehow I think the price is quite pricey for me. So it would only be once in a while visit for me.

Cheers!!

Buy Women's Weekly April 2013 Free Neutrogena Ageless Set

I purposely drove to SS2 Mall after I found about the free Neutrogena set with purchase of Women's Weekly at Times book store.

Yup.. And I did call them prior getting into my car. My other half was just laughing about the fact I drove to the mall just to get the magazine. It's free (not the magazine).. and it's not in sample size. Btw, do take note on the expiry date. Mine expire in Sept./Oct. 2013.

They did such an amazing job..

Kudos to the guys who washed my Bobo awesomely. The really did such an amazing job despite it's merely just an improper car wash, not that salon-type-with-a-nice-roof-or-a-proper-shop-lot. It was such a relief to see Bobo in nice white colour back. It was my bad, being lazy to visit car wash weekly. Knowing that it's white in colour, I really need to take extra care of it look.

It was my 2nd visit to car wash on the same day. You heard me right. I washed the car twice on the same day. Initially in the morning, I sent it to Seksyen 14, PJ since I had some errands to be done. RM 10 for the car wash and vacuum. Standard price right. Then, turned out, it was not clean at all. Well, I'm pretty sure you out there with white colour car should know how it will be after weeks you didn't wash your car. I was devastated but too speechless, then I've been thinking of sending my car for polish and wax. But it would cost more. I'm a bit reluctant since I just sent it for polish last month by using Groupon voucher. Then, I decided why not go to the car wash I regularly visit. Immediately, I went to the car wash although the weather kinda not friendly at all. I can't seat tight without thinking of my car.

I asked first of course whether this is washable or not. Kita tak nak pisang berbuah 2 kali kan. RM 10 pun duit jugak. You don't simply spend RM10 for trash job. They used chemical (that's what they call it) to clean it away. It was not my first time after all. Then, the boss came and we chit chat a bit. And I told him my story. So, he suggested to do water wax for only RM10 add on. I was just discussing that with my friend earlier. He said somewhere in Taman Desa is having a promotion for RM30. Yeayy.. Cheaper. I'm not sure how water wax really works but I don't mind since I have already save plenty of money by not doing any regular polish.

In the end? My car looks white .. in its own natural colour back. Obviously the finishing won't be as good as polish which would cost me couple of hundreds. I called one professional car wash and was told normal polish is RM300. T____________T.. Not my pocket friendly at all.

Location : Shell, Seksyen 16, Petaling Jaya

p/s - I paid for my own car wash... Cheers..

Tickling My Tastebuds

When you happened to be in Kedah or to be exact Teluk Kechai (few kilometres behind Kuala Kedah.. that's on your way to Kuala Kedah jetty should you are on your way to Langkawi), it is a MUST for you to drop by at one of the 'gerai' along the road to eat Laksa Teluk Kechai. The coconut sambal somehow makes it different from other laksa. For those who loves to eat spicy food, the chili padi is a bonus for you. One more thing, the gravy is a bit lighter. Kedahan called it 'ceghoi'. Price? It's merely RM3.50 for a normal single plate laksa. What's more to ask for?

Random photos at Cititel Hotel with Lumix DMC-SZ1

Date : 15-16 January 2013
Location : Cititel Hotel

I was on task for a conference that time. All the photos were taken using Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ1.

I'm just happy with the photos. It's not SLR and it only costs me RM499. Not really only then.. but still I would say affordable.
